Well, that was fast. Good.

Thanks for the fast response! We got there in about eight hours...very nice.

From here on out, stretch goals are strictly a matter of backer count.

  • 350 Backers - we add the CC1 art to the mix, which instantly makes available the deck of 20 cards.
  • 500 Backers - CC4: Wizards PDF gets added to the $10 pledge reward, and of course the cards and counters are made available as add-ons.

The last two TFT campaigns both pushed past 500 backers, so I'm hopeful that we at least unlock CC4.

But I'm definitely going to need your help to hit the 700- and 1,000-backer goals in terms of getting the word out.

  • Are you on social media? Re-shares with the link attached, or showing the images and the link? Really helpful. Twitter and Facebook are especially twitchy about their algorithms and who sees what, so more really is better.
  • Do you frequent any of the RPG forums? A good word there from not the publisher carries a heck of a lot more weight. I will certainly be posting in some places myself, of course.
  • Friends who game but aren't on social media? Poke 'em if they're up for it.
  • Also, if you know of folks with podcasts, streams, or other interview-style shows who wouldn't mind a guest yapping about TFT and RPG publishing...I'm always up to chat!

Regardless, we're past the first major milestone. The project will happen. That's a nice place to be on the first day.

Find Gaming Ballistic and TFT on the web!

Because the stretch goals for this project are driven by backer counts, not dollars, it's even more important to be able to find resources for TFT and for the publisher on the web. So, with that in mind:

Gaming Ballistic, LLC

Gaming Ballistic is a publisher of roleplaying games, and this note lets you know where you can find Gaming Ballistic on the Web.

I am currently the only third-party publisher given the license by SJGames to independently publish material for The Fantasy Trip, and have run two successful projects for that system, which collectively produced eleven books. This campaign aims to produce five more (CC1 already exists).

I am a huge fan of the GURPS-related variants by Steve Jackson Games, and through the Nordlond Setting materials, including Hall of Judgment, The Citadel at Nordvorn, Hand of Asgard, and several others, am one of their few license-holders, and to my knowledge so far the only one for the Dungeon Fantasy RPG.

As a company, I wrote and published the 5e-derived Dragon Heresy system, D&D5e through the Open Gaming License (OGL), and a few OSR products, usually with a focus on Swords & Wizardry.

All that said: if you can't find me, you can't play my games and buy my stuff. Buying my stuff lets me make nicer things for you.

Finding Gaming Ballistic

As seems to be required these days, you can find me all over the place:

And we're live!!

Welcome to Character Collections!

Well, we’re off! Thanks for joining me on

  • My 10th Kickstarter
  • My 3rd project for The Fantasy Trip
  • My 1st project since deciding to make Gaming Ballistic my full-time mission in life

As you know, the campaign runs from today through March 9...18 days, covering three weekends.

I hope you take time to read through the campaign, especially as it pertains to the digital and add-on project offering.

Even so: there are a lot of options, and I’ve already had a few kind people say “Just tell me how much I need to plunk down to get all the new stuff.”

Because of the stretch goal structure...that’s not a simple question. But here’s a shot at the answer.

Just Tell Me How Much!

The following assume you already have print and PDF versions of the material from the two Perilous Journeys campaigns. If you need those...you can get them digitally by choosing the right pledge level, and then plus up by $105 for the physical books.

But if you already have them...here’s the scoop.

If you want

  • CC1, 2, and 3 in PDF; you already have CC1: Select the $10 tier and pledge $29
  • CC1, 2, and 3 in both print and PDF: Select the $10 tier and pledge $37
  • Books and cards for CC1, 2, and 3 (assumed we pass 350 backers): Select $10 and pledge $87
  • Everything new available physically on campaign start: Select $10 tier and pledge $212 (this includes all card and counter sheets from More Perilous Journeys as well as the CC materials)

Some other numbers: How much do I add to my digital pledge if I want...

  • All the softcovers if we hit 1,000 backers: +$58to your digital pledge
  • All the cards if we hit 1,000 backers: +$175if you have the 5PJ cards; +$195 if you don’t
  • All the counters if we hit $1,000 backers: +$130if you have the 5PJ counters, +$180 if you don’t

Just give me a table?
